Apollodorus: 600-700 yrs later than hesiod, genealogically organized etiological handbook, mythographer: person who categorizes and retells myths, not all that literarily colorful. Jason & argonauts: peleus got jason to go on quest for fleece. Jason builds argo: a bunch of heroes gathered, lots of sex with powerful exotic women, heracles goes off to look for friend, convenient plot device so that heracles doesn"t stick to overshadow jason. Jason arrives and gets help from medea to complete tasks: medea: princess, witch. Jason gets back but his home"s a mess. Jason & medea move to corinth: medea kills kids after jason decides to divorce her for new princess.
