Into 100 ml rb flask (while reflux is going on) pre-weigh individually three large test tubes (standing up in a beaker) 2 x 25 ml water , : check aqueous layer with litmus (see if it"s basic) ; if still acidic, wash once more with, wash organic layer with , pour ester into 50 ml erlenmeyer flask.
