BIOL 153 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Otolith, Inferior Oblique Muscle, Sensory Neuron
Document Summary
Eyelid: protect eye, spread tears around the eye. Sclera: wraps around the back of the eye. Cornea: is clear so light can pass through it, curved, works as a lense (80% of focus) Iris: thin layer of muscular issue, opening in between is where the pupil is. Two sets of muscle (radial, contract pupil (dilaion, in the dark) sphincter, makes pupil smaller, light) Angle of light efects which way the light goes into the eye: closer to eye, farther focal point is back, adjust curve of lense. Ciliary body: coninue around the back of the eye and is part of the iris. Light goes directly straight through and hits the phobia. Phobia: highest density of photo receptors and most color receptors. Vitreous humor: helps hold shape of the eye, if something damages it you end up with black dots in ield of view, doesn"t regenerate or get replaced. Liquid lows throughout back and front of eye.
