Document Summary

Arth lecture 5 continuation from last lecture and the agricultural revolution. The epi-paleolithic period can go by different names. Natufian culture has a set of stone tools specific to this culture such as the mortar and pestle. The sheen" on the stone blade is from rubbing against the wild cereal grains. The teeth remnants from this period shows abrasions from eating the cereal grains (perhaps roasted) But not a lot of evidence is left behind. Mostly clusters of heavy stones (ephemeral remains) Posts hold up the upper part of the house. Covered with brushwood or reed matting (roof) The two small circles near the middle of the picture are 2 pits used for storage or burial. This is the evidence that they stayed for a while because of the idea that something (maybe food) was stored. There is also evidence that houses were rebuilt, showing the early signs of attachment to a home".
