One day, he decided to quit his job and sever family ties to reconstruct his reputation as a painter. Gauguin left his modern job, moved out of paris and decided to live in. Gauguin announced that life in paris was all related to the general equivalence and rejected modernity". He believed that modernity" was different from modernism", and to see modernism" one had to reject modernity" which was related to general equivalence. Gauguin"s style of painting was in some aspects, similar to the impressionists. They were both at and had to spacial depth, and both played with perspective.
