Introduction to prison riots: typically involve crime, studied by interviewing people who were involved, kingston riot, two inmates (brian ensor and bertrand henry robert) were murdered, thirteen inmates charged with the two counts of murder. Interviewed all 550 inmates o: 50 of them gave statements. Shepley and brian beaucage were challenging and confronting knight: were involved in tormenting undesirables, advocated for killing the guards o. 12 pleaded guilty to manslaughter, and one to assault. Beaucage pleaded guilty to assault as he did not actually participate in: eleven guards were charged with assaulting inmates who had moved from kp to. When they arrived at the institute, they were beat with batons. Found not guilty on all counts brought against them: billie knight and five other inmates were charged with forcible seizure of the six guards. Originally charged with kidnapping, but was reduced in a plea bargain. Five accepted the plea bargain, and got 3 years each.
