Theorizing surveillance spread of discipline: michel foucault described his work discipline & punish how logics of surveillance (from institutions) have spread to society, foucault describes two extremes of discipline, (cid:862)there are two images, then, of discipline. At one extreme the discipline-blockade, the enclosed institution, established on the edges of society, turned inwards towards negative functions: arresting evil, breaking communications, spreading time.
