Individuals are wanting to avoid the fear feeling itself. Panic disorder is a fear disorder of fear itself. Extra scientific avoidance, external stimuli that makes them feel this way. For example exercising leads to faster heartbeat they assume it"s a bigger issue. Anxiety sensitive more easily have anxiety responses. People who develop panic perceive this as danger. Then they have worry about having another panic attack. They start avoiding it and then think about when it will happen and figure how it will happen, etc. They are extremely effective in short term. Empirical standpoint would not recommend medication, but talk therapy will work better long term. Face your fears talk about your problems. Panic disorder exposed to the sensations that they find helpful. Get these tasks assigned as homework and do it over and over until they realize on their own that this is just a thought that will go away on its own.
