Show two version of same crime (same evidence) in two area. Stereotype criminal look or non-stereotype baby look . Criminal look offender is consider as more guilty. Use of peripheral processing -> stereotype criminal -> not reliable. Bail/ fine by attractiveness and class of misdemeanor. Attractiveness rating from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest) Attractive = less likely to be guilty. Act more +ve towards attractive people -> attractive people respond more +ve -> think attractive people are more social -> rate them more +ve. Peripheral processing -> attractive = less likely to be guilty. Put every evidence together to make judgment. Narrow focus to certain sets of facts. People listen to the same things =/= process the same way. Example: the amish trial (the sexual violation case) Think every party is right, but have different information. Take one person"s facts as true, dismiss other information consistent. All party is wrong, but believes something happened.
