Problems are going into the interview with assumptions. End up bias and those biases will shape the interview process. Personality characteristics (e. g. cop culture: the person you are interviewing is seen as negative, born bad, more likely to deceive, this becomes your world view which will shape the questions you ask. Values and general worldview: if you are benevolent and empathic you can be bias as well, if your worldview is people do not lie they are good, this may not lead you to ask those harder questions. Prejudices and stereotypes (e. g. racial profiling: these prejudices become overdeveloped, you will more likely treat a witness as a suspect because of the prejudice you hold against a certain group.
