One purpose of educational psych is to go beyond an individual experiences and testimonies, to systematically examine the impact of teaching on the lies of students by carefulld esigned research studies: Teacher-student relationships (bridget hamre and robert pianta, 2001) Followed 179 small school children from kindergarten to grade. Found that students with a good relationship in kindergarten had better behaviour, etc. in grade 8 (defined in terms of level of conflict with the child, child"s dependency on teacher, and teacher"s affection for the child) Higher level instructors and a positive relationship improves performance. Behaviourally at risk children do better as they get older if they have a responsive, caring teacher who provides frequent, consistent feedback.
