There are many ways that the study could come out with a bit of bias from either the researcher or the subject. The researcher bias can come from perhaps being invested in one hypothesis over another causing you to have biases with results of the study. Researcher bias can also come when researchers treat different groups differently (eve down to having a bigger smile when handling forms to different groups) Hawthorne electric has people come look at their productivity. Employees who told that people were going to come see their work. They decided to change the brightness in the room which showed that people worked a little more efficiently. Then they decided that maybe they should give them more space so they change the desks. Over time they realized that any change they made no matter how relevant the change was the productivity went up. It was found that anytime a change was made they tried a little bit harder.
