Multinational companies such as amazon often chose to relate to areas with: high population (1 million+, proximity to airports, economic hub, good transportation systems. Planning is a reaction to the industrial city. Most movements and development in cities took place due to the industrial city. Planning was a response to these growing problems caused by the industrial city. There are two approaches to planning including: traditional/organic approaches: this uses past planning models tries to find planning models in the past to apply to future problems, rational/progressive approaches: this attempts to invent and innovate plan models. In the 19th century, urban settlements were established in the country as it was thought that these industrial areas were too crowded and unappealing. Urban settlements were created on a small scale. The culturalist movement borrowed heavily from the medieval city and aimed to implement a similar setup in their respective areas.
