Con icts have layers (personal, relation and systemic) Model is based in research around families with addiction. Cant talk bout alcohol in alcoholic families therefore it manifests in a different way. Its not about the kid, its about the parents. People in a con ict tend to draw in a third prong to relieve tension. The third prong = anxiety with another issue. Trying to x their child"s issues, but the real issue is their alcoholism. Shift of tension (from a-b to a-c) and they might also draw in a third person. The third person can; get out of it, entrench it or improve it. When someone is drawing you into an emotional triangle, it says more about what they think of you vs the other person. Prof says there is always a triangle and there is not preexisting con ict because everything just dates back to far ago triangles.
