Main funcions of the law is to maintain social order. Our relaionships, our rights and responsibiliies are dictated by the law. A funcion of law is to manage disputes and conlicts law courts and legal tribunals are conlict resoluion mechanisms. We value social order since it resolves conlicts. Government have a lot of pulls and push. Certain groups in society want diferent laws which create social change. Funcion: to pull rights and privileges, prevening status-quo, because changing it would for example cost a lot of money. Laws can prevent some type of social change to occur. People have obligaions and rights which are dictated by laws. Funcion: communicaing moral standards, it is an educaional funcions, laws are like all norms, they relect deiniions as what we consider right or wrong in society. Dysfuncions in la: prevent innovaion changes and social change, law can be repressive, laws can allows discriminatory pracices.
