Inequality is embedded, where everybody has equal rights to society. Social inequality connects to ones position in social system. Resources may change from one historical place to another. Give and take in resources remains constant. Family: older men or grandparents have authority in the families. Society: men have a less social status in society, but in their respective families will have a higher power in society. Even in some societies today, status still relates to the family you are born into. For ex: british royal family, societies with cast system, Achieved social status what you achieve through your personal roles. Ascribed status what is given to us. Social stratification is used to create social inequality, due to wealth and poverty in society. Transfer from one generation to the next: in our society, we still continue to be strongly influenced by where our family came from.
