Hlth 305: guest lecture: thinking about community development, enagagement, and advocacy in terms of environmental justice. Fair and equal treatment for all people in having a healthy environment. Environmental degradation (ex): reduced water/air/soil quality, toxins, extreme weather. Drivers include rapidly increasing consumption and waste. Poverty is declining, but as people get richer we are all consuming more. Indigenous communities are not safe, but in-land areas may be less impacted) There is a mismatch between the countries that are drivers of climate change and those that are most affected by it.
