Qualitative researchers rely on interpretive social science. Conduct detailed examinations that arise in natural flow of social life. Quantitative research rely on positivist approach social science. Precisely measuring variables, testing hypotheses linked to general explanations. Sequence of things to do quantitative research follows a linear path linear follow a fixed sequence of steps to one clear direction. Qualitative research is more nonlinear and cyclical. Make successive passes through steps move up down left and right with each cycle or repetition, collects new data or insight. Captures and discovers meaning once the researchers become immersed in the data. Concepts are in the form of themes motifs , generalizations and taxonomies. Measures are systematically created before measures are created in an ad hoc manner data collection and are standardized.
