Granite is very hard and not naturally from this area. We usually only see small areas of granite but we can map the larger intrusive mass, a way to map is to follow dykes. To understand igneous rock we need to know a bit about the colour and composition of the rock. Light colour minerals and dark colour minerals explain the colour. Colour is not completely reliable cause impurities can influence the colour of quartz and other minerals. Quartz, plagioclase feldspar, potassium feldspar, muscovite mica. Pele - the goddess of fire (she devours land, creates and destroys) Volcano dust is a hazard to planes, since the abrasive material in the air can mess with jet engines. Delivers material to the surface and the material crystallizes in layers (strata). The creation of early oceans and atmosphere were probably formed as volcanoes released gases on the surface of the earth. Some mountains and islands are made by volcanoes.
