Canadian version promissory estoppel: can only use this as a defence, can"t use this to start a claim, ex: you would be stuck with ires, ex: rening lands and buildings. 2 years into lease, tenants wants to end lease. The landlord agrees to suspend the railway company"s maintenance on the building.
