Demeter & dionysus are fertility deities of vegetation. Attributes: staff and grain (staff represents authority or walking staff, portrayed as a mature woman, looks like hera. Duttur, looking for her son and she is fertility god of the grain. While she is looking for her son, distraught and upset, no crops grew. Finally she descends to underworld, finds him, happy again, grains start going again. Story (homeric hymn: rape of persephone stem, rap , means snatched. She gets snatched by hades and raped in the underworld. One day going through meadows with nymphs and friends, than they see a bunch of flowers to pick it. Than a chasm comes out and hades comes in his chariot, snatches her, drags her down, than earth closes itself. Hecate and helios are only two gods who heard her get snatched. Hecate is goddess of magic and night and darkness so she holds power of secret knowledge and hidden things.
