Evolution: descent with modifications change in population allele frequency. Analogy: same function, but different origin, such as the wings of a fly vs. bird. Special creation: belief that the species are created individually and are not a descend from ancestors, meaning that there is not splitting into lineages. Evolution: species change over time, lineages are split, and new life forms arise from old life forms. Studies show that all dogs are descended from wolves. The domestication of dogs was a fairly recent process. It was done through the selective breeding of the friendlier wolves, and then eventually dogs came around to be a part of our everyday life. Selection by humans resulted in the rapid phenotypic changes. Some types of dogs are more closely related to wolves than the other, but virtually all the dogs are capable of mating with wolves and producing viable offspring as a result.
