ARTS140 Lecture Notes - In Essence, Deductive Reasoning, Precedent
Document Summary
The legal professional has an important place in society in terms of solving problem citizens face daily, but it is not always like what is portrayed on television. In this paper, i will argue how the facts, issues, rules, application, and conclusion (firac) method of problem- solving is the best method when it comes to comprehensive legal analysis compared to other inadequate methods. I will begin by outlining the importance of firac and define each acronym in order to demonstrate how every step allows one in the legal field to thoroughly examine the problem at hand. I will then argue the importance of issue-spotting to demonstrate how the firac method is efficient at preventing any important information from being missed. The firac method is comprehensive in itself, but i will outline how the user can subsequently alter its efficiency thus rendering the method ineffective. There are multiple methodologies for legal analysis including cirso, idar, ilac and many other methods.
