Adult women - sandwiched between caring for parents and caring for their families: sandwich generation - usually women. In other cultures - extended families is part of cultural traditions and norms. Census family - more inclusive - includes same sex parents - married/cohabiting : common law are not looked down upon as it was in the past. Different between common law and marriage - piece of paper: but law protects common law relationship as well. Marriage - formal paperwork for divorce - assets divide and maintence for children: marriage is formally dissolved and have 30 days to test it.
