One problem is that it can be difficult for a person to know that they need help. Skepticism about the effectiveness of mental health treatment also discourages people from seeking treatment when they need it. But when they are skilled and qualified mental health professionals provide useful services for mild to severe psychological problems. A lot of people with mental disorders do not seek help because of the cultural stigma.
