Connecting normalcy and the construction of normalcy. Standard & non standard, normal & non-normal. These terms were created by this construction fo the norm. A system of thought compromised of ideas, attitudes and courses of action, beliefs and practices that systematically construct the subjects and the world of which they speak foucault. Discourse: social boundary what statements can be said about a topic. It"s related to language, and the way it is used. Discourse of normalcy produces rather than describes, the bodies that it names, knows and controls. Produces power, but also operates by the rules of exclusion. The discourse is related back to these three things.
