T cells: defend against internal threats decline with age, lose ability to recognize foreign cell increase susceptibility to disease. Largest in adolescence then decreases in size and mass. Less able to turn t-cells into adult cells, not capable of maintaining optimum immune system functioning. Shown in healthy adults but also linked to stress, depression. Experiences that demand lots of stress and change will affect it.
