Fetus grows from 2grams and 2. 5cm to 3. 2kg and 50cm. Viability = ability of the fetus to survive outside the womb. Small number of fetuses reach viability at week 23: remaining in the womb until week 24 greatly increases chance of survival. Most fine-tuning of brain takes place during fetal stage.
