Polypeptides: water solu(cid:271)le, (cid:272)a(cid:374) (cid:373)ove i(cid:374) the (cid:271)lood easy (cid:271)ut it"s too large to (cid:373)ove a(cid:272)ross a plasma membrane. Amines: water or lipid soluble, modified amino acids, can cross plasma membrane. Target specific effects: epinephrine, liver vs blood vessel. Receptor specific effects: epinephrine, beta vs alpha receptor isoforms.
