Basic nutrition: heterotrophy, we are ingestive heterotrophs eat, digest, acquire nutrients, we acquire carbon compounds form digestion use it for atp synthesis-work, macromolecules synthesis. Essential nutrients something we can not build form other molecules, we can not synthesize it so we have to ingest it to make our proteins some amino acids some fatty acids.
