Document Summary
41. 1 an animals diet must supply chemical energy, organic molecules, and essential nutrients. Cellular respiration all cells require atp to do work oxygen, sugar comes in glycolysis, etc, calvin cycle etc. (know basics: we also break down proteins to nitrogenous waste. A supply of each reactant oxygen to every cell in the body, nutrients etc. A waster removal system get rid of carbon dioxide, nitrogenous wastes (ammonia) so tissues can remain healthy. A mechanism to connect the tissues of the animal connecting sources of nutrients we need to the cells in the body. Basic nutrition: heterotrophy, we are ingestive heterotrophs eat, digest, acquire nutrients, we acquire carbon compounds form digestion use it for atp synthesis-work, macromolecules synthesis. Essential nutrients something we can not build form other molecules, we can not synthesize it so we have to ingest it to make our proteins some amino acids some fatty acids.
