Recall the experiment designed to assess the e ect of calorie-reduced diets on the longevity of mice. Mice were randomly assigned to one of 6 diets: a control group that were allowed to eat an unlimited amount, r1, r2, r3, r4, and r5. We also make statements like: we can be 95% con dent that the di erence in population mean survival time between the r2 and r1 diets lies somewhere in the interval (5,11). Consider the following examples: two coins are tossed. What is the probability both coins come up heads: two six-sided dice are rolled. Tossing coins and rolling dice are examples of probability experiments. In a probability experiment, we cannot predict individual outcomes with certainty, but we know the long-run distribution of the outcomes. Only works if you have a set probability (rolling dice, flipping a coin) Dependent on how likely it is to occur (will i spin around 3 times in the next 30 seconds)
