Victims of assault- why some people are prone to becoming victims looking for theory. Prime- questions you"ll be asking people - why they commit or why they are victims. Delinquency- skipping school, bullying and cheating on tests > not against the criminal code but seen as wrong: bullies down the road will engage in behaviour that law-breaking. Self-report surveys- if they engage in offending and if they have been a victim: ask questions about offending (doing drugs, selling, ask also if they victims of crime (got injured selling drugs, got robed for drugs) How many times people use a certain drug over time differential association (who you hang around with), won"t explain everyone, only would explain majority but not everyone. Discrimination, higher profiling in lower class areas, how police enforce crime, different types of crimes have different report rates. Questions on survey in high school: crime they committed, beliefs, attachment, commitment, involvement.
