Loyalty (collegiality) was also known as the blue code. They must keep their mouth shut: this form of brotherhood is focused towards males; they even call each other brothers. Female oicers feel as if they are not as protected and wanted as the male oicers. Some females have even stated that they do not trust the male oicers in some situaions: minoriies feel the same way, masculinity and loyalty plays a huge role as to your views as a police oicer. Undercover and detecive uniform was more masculine: drug invesigaion. Was more masculine than sexual assault: calling for help (ot) oicer in trouble. They are masculinized showed that they are weak and feminine because they need to seek rescue from more masculine oicers. This makes it more diicult for oicers to request help if needed. Subculture dictates that real men do not need to call for help because if they do they are ridiculed and called pussies.
