Statistics canada = spousal homicides against females have been consistently 3 to 4 times higher than for males (still a bit lower than global trends) Majority of spousal homicide-suicides were committed by legally married men (64%), common-law (23%), separated husbands (10%), divorced (1%) Only 3% of female offenders commit suicide after murdering their male partner - on par with global trends.
