Criminal = violation of law in the criminal code. Helps prevent or respond to crime & those charged. Process: police court sentence prison (bail or detain, charges may be withdrawn, plea granted or not) (federal, 2yrs+, or provincial, 2 yrs - Funding 61% on police, 22% on correction, 9% on courts, 5% on legal aid, 3% on prosecutions. 2 all should have rights, even accused, to prevent unlawful powers of state (need good reason & proof) . 4 corrections should fit the crime fairness, equality, justice.
