Crime is deined by the media with a similar to the objecivist- legalist viewpoint. Important diferences exist among the various forms of media; with crime reports playing the biggest role. Crime is depicted in media as an evitable part of our society. The media oten focuses on the sectors of crime that people want to see. For example 94% of youth crime in press focussed on youth violence, however according to court staisics only 25% of youth crime was violent; much of which was minor assaults.
