2013 - over 69,000 police active: population rate 197 for every 100,000 canadians. More white males than any other race. 25% were female up from 1986 when only 5% were female. Issues: women have been increasing, largest growth in policing, often not recruited low numbers, physical tasks required were created with male capabilities, 1990 changed the physical tasks for females, dropped and not women some requirements. Sexist attitudes to not being capable enough. Not so much physical, as much as it is technique. Law enforcement: application of law, most associated with police. Thursday, november 5th, 2015: investigating crimes, solving crimes. Order maintenance: right vs. wrong, right and just, takes up a vast amount of time, ex. What am i supposed to do: identification, disposition. How do you deal with them: report, court. File a full report with all information about who the person is, what happened, what time, what location.
