Human ecology model: based on biological model, living matter into environment plants, looking ta plants and animals, how environment changes over time based on dominance, applies to human. If change in one part it affects all other systems: humans take over land people who live on particular land will compete for resources. Zone 1 business core: banks, stores, hotels, pt, city hall etc. Inexpensive homes: ethnic or religious ties china town or little italy. Zone 4 middle class residential zones: more expensive zone, middle class lives here, better lit (brighter) Zone 5 commuter zone: richest zone live here, suburbs, bigger properties and houses, people commute to the city to work. If you moved out of zone 2 you would leave your crime self behind. Police patrol at places where crime is most likely to happen. Community: building community ties for people there, ways to encourage organization.
