Gender stratification refers to the unequal distribution of wealth, power and privilege between men and women. Margaret mead"s research: participated in participant observation of 3 countries concluding that men and women showed remarkably similar attitudes and behaviour. She ultimately concluded that culture is the key to gender differences as masculinity as well as feminist ideals differ from society to society. George murdock"s research: hunting and warfare generally fall onto the men, home centred work fell to the women. Aside from those traditional roles, variation existed, women did farming and agricultural practices and also in terms of building. Patriarchy is a form of social organization in which males dominate females which is justified by sexism which is the belief that one sex is innately superior to the other. The opposite end of the spectrum refers to matriarchy in which forms of organizations that females dominate males.
