Humans lie because they would like to please the researcher when doing things like surveys, therefore more diicult to ind truth in science. Empirically veriiable: can point to something and know the truth. Three ways to do sociology (will be on midterm) will need to know what each are: scieniic sociology: refer to slides. Concept: a mental construct represening a part in the world, simpliied. Ran an experiment by using 2 schools (both schools as similar as they can), one with the program, one without. Baseline measure (a quesionnaire), done before and ater program to see if scores went up. Reliable and consistent, and valid quesions must be asked. Cannot be objecive because the research maters cannot leave informaion out if it does not work. Replicaion replicaing someone else"s research to test if results will be diferent.
