Gaining trust in the community you are studying. Adjust behaviours to fit conditions of group. Fully immersing yourself in the context of the study. You have to get involved in the drug trade environment. Researcher must be as objective as possible -- difficult because while being fully involved in the group, you have to avoid bias, stigmas, and stereotypes. Micro-level research observes ordinary, everyday activities in natural settings, as well as any unusual occurrences that may happen while in the field. Becomes directly involved with the people being studied and personally experiences the daily social life in the field setting. Acquires insider"s pov while maintaining the analytic perspective. Produces data in the form of extensive written notes, as well as diagrams, maps, or pictures to provide very detailed descriptions.
