Leadership is key to organizational success, survival, and strategy. Leadership is one person"s input, and that input can affect other people"s organization. A bad leader can impact an entire organization, the team, the power they have is extraordinary. Leader has the ability to enhance productivity. Strong leader has the ability to build employee satisfaction (satisfaction with the leader can increase the satisfaction with the organization) Formal leadership: individuals who occupy assigned leadership roles and titles: given specific authority and expected to influence others, supervisors, ceos. Informal leadership: individuals who have ability to influence without formal authority: reliance on likeability and skill. Strategic leadership: ability to initiate changes that create viable future for organization: open, honest, focus on future. Theories of leadership: trait theories of leadership, characteristics that make people a leader situational theories of leadership.
