Tuskegee syphilis study group of persons who had syphilis, a cure was discovered, but were not given or told about the cure for the sake of the project. All participants were black and disadvantaged on a different variety of levels, poor, largely uneducated. They knew they had something and continued to live within their community. They were not trying to kill off these people. They were trying to benefit the community when they initiated the study in trying to comprehend the disease and help the community. Just because you are a good person, does not mean it will have good consequences.
