Evoluion proposes and the environment disposes then extant species will be that they have solved some set of problems speciic to their environments. Horseshoe crabs have been around for millions of years as their environment has been very consistent and they haven"t faced many problems. Humans have undergone a huge amount of changes. Three approaches to evolved psychology (pg 22-24, pg 37-39) Modular evoluionary psychology: recurrent problems in the environment of evoluionary adaptedness (eea, oten treated as the pleistocene) lead to a mind adapted to solve problems in that environment. Adaptaionism: psychological traits are soluions to environmental problems. Modularity: encapsulaion, the mind is made up of special purpose devices. Region of the brain used in idenifying faces. Human behavioural ecology: hbe begins with the assumpion that humans (and other animals) behave in ways that maximize their reproducive itness (over their lifeimes?)
