Information processing the transformation of sensory input into mental representations and the manipulation of such representations. Personality revealed through perception: the perceiver contributes to the mental representations such that, even in perception there are differences among people in what they see when they look at a scene. Field dependence: witkin was first interested in cues that people use in judging orientation in spaces. They are attentive to social cues and, in general, are oriented toward people. They are not interested in other opinions, keep their distance from others, and show a preference for nonsocial situations. Internal locus on control events that are under one"s control and that one is responsible for the major outcomes in life. Learned helplessness: learned helplessness individual difference in how people interpret the world. Most participants list an average of 15 personal projects that are currently important in their daily life.
