Organism induced change in the selective environment. Organism have 2 roles in evolution: reproduction related, interaction with environments. But it s not just the organisms propose, the environment disposes. Every generation inherits an environment that is different from its predecessor because the predecessor ahs changed the environment. Inceptive niche construction: initiate a change in an environmental factor that leads to a chance in allele frequency. Change in diet, disease caused by agriculture. Counteractive niche construction: counteract an environmental factor that leads to opposition or nullification of a selective pressure (insulating houses, putting on warm clothes. Acts faster than behavioural changes based on genetic evolution. Cultural and biological evolution doesn"t necessary overlap (inteactions) A set of genes modified by selection pressures on the previous generation. An environment and its modified selection pressures from the previous generation. Our genetic information modifies our cultural practices (biases them directly) but cultural practices may lead to selection on genetic information.
