Inferential findings are likely to be found in the pop. Plot how often the value of the dependent variable occurs. Center of the distribution ( mean-average score median-middle # mode-frequently repeating #) Mean : m= { (xi)/n (advantages most people understand it, used in other statistical equations. Disadvantages : mean is strongly influenced by extreme scores outliers) Median advantages: not influenced by outliers, disadvantages : not used by other statistical equations. Mode- advantage: not influenced by outliers, disadvantages: least precise measure of the center of the distribution, can t be used in other statistical equations. # value that reps how wide the distribution. Range numerical distance from the lowest to highest score (advantages: easy to calculate, easily understood, disadvantages: strongly influenced by outliers.
