Document Summary
In order for aggression to happen we need at least two people (an aggressor and a victim), so it is a social behaviour. Aggression is any form of behaviour directed toward the goal of harming or injuring another living being who is motivated to avoid such treatment. Has to be an intention of harming. Directed at someone who is motivated to not receive aggression. Harm could be desired (uncontrollable desire to get harmed), this is not aggression. Biological characteristics that we can point out to be more aggressive. We learn hot to be aggressive, depends on culture. We need to look at both factors. There is a predisposition towards aggression but our environment also has an influence. Human has 18 instincts, one of them is aggression, instincts direct behaviours. To say humans have instincts is to say we have black boxes, we don"t know much about it. Human is motivated to bring anything around themselves to nothing (to death)
