A priori eternal order of harmony: god"s plan. If everything went to god"s plan then it was harmonious. Revelation (the word of god revealed), not reason, brings knowledge of god"s plan and divine providence (god"s care and guidance) Knowledge revealed through church hierarchy who set rules or dogma. Only men could take position in the church hierarchy as the revelation of god. Men or women could have vocation but differentiated into convents and monasteries. Brought in moral dimension of the corrupt body, the fall. All mortal bodies born in sin and corruption. Church focused on enforcing marriage and kinship rules. In marriage women guided by husbands, must obey. Human reason also important in following god"s plan. Reason is human, cannot be differentiated by sex. Fall not in the body but in the relationship to reason. Augustine focused on the relationship of reason to the body. Corrupt acts will happen unless reason brings the will into harmony with.
