They feel mechanization and industrialization are necessary for this transformation: these theorists are always studying the conditions needed for economic growth. They feel traditional societies are stagnant and unchanging: that is why they disliked them, they would produce a hostile economic environment. Early modernization theory believed that there was the west and the rest : that"s why modernization theory is referring to western style development.
